Meet at the shopping centre next to the Kumeu Fire Station (opposite Oraha Road) at 9.00. We will carpool from there. It is about 45 minutes to the park. If you are driving straight to the park, be there at the latest at 10.00.
We will walk down the farm to the beach where we will have morning tea. There are wide, expansive views across the harbour so one or two in the group might like to bring binoculars. We will walk north along the beach to the old Prawn Farm, have a look around the old ponds and then head back along farm land to the car park. As we move away from the sea
there are some areas of regenerating bush. I expect the walk to take about 4 hours. The walk ranges from easy to moderate.
On the way back, if people want to, we could visit Lake Ototoa or Shelley Beach for an ice-cream.
