Venture south for a day like no other. Between starting at the very 70’s Otara Town Centre & finishing at the magnificent Fo Guang Shan Buddist Temple, we will witness a huge array of life that makes our city so diverse.  Hear beautiful singing resonating from the multitude of Pacific Island churches and breath in the smells of umus being laid next to backyard fales, watch locals walk their dog among the magnificent native trees of Murphy’s Bush and kids running free around Sir Barry Curtis Park  in contrast to the Buddhists quietly praying at their temple. The tramp will conclude at the Fo Guang Shan Temple were we will be given a short talk about one of New Zealand’s most beautiful places followed by afternoon tea in the Water Drop Teahouse. Lotus tea anyone? Please bring clothing that will cover your arms and legs and be prepared to take your shoes off. This tramps is about 19km, (4-5 hours) very flat and will be squishy under foot in parts.

Bring your AT HOP card.
