Meet at Glen Eden 8.30; or 9.30 at Ernie’s Reserve, Reynolds Road, Pukekohe. If going straight to Ernie’s please let the leader know.
The Pukekohe Five Summits Trail circumnavigates central Pukekohe ( 21km loop) . It includes the five local hills – Pukekohe Hill, Belmont Rise, Cape Hill, The Rock and Roosevelt Park. Highest Elevation : Pukekohe Hill (222 m above sea level)
The trail covers a plethora of landscapes with interesting geological features (volcanic tuffs, cones, craters), passing
through innumerable parks and reserves, new and old subdivisions, off and on the road walking paths.
For this walk, I would like to start from Cape Hill as the first summit. Cape Hill offers a clear view of other four
summits so we can appreciate the landscapes of Pukekohe and for us to have an idea how far the walk is before we start.
