This is a 2 in 1 walk. We will firstly walk the Pae o Te Rangi Regional Park, followed by the old Bethells Quarry.
Can you meet at the park entrance, at the lower end of Te Henga Road, at 8.45 for a 9.00 start. It might pay to car pool as there isn’t a lot of parking. At the top of the park there are 360 degree views to Anawhata in the south to Bethells to the north, and further depending on the weather. If the temperatures are warm enough, there might be a chance of foraging for mushrooms. When we get back to the park entrance we will take a short walk up the road to the old Bethells Quarry, closed
in 2015, to see its transformation into a reserve with the planting of native timbers.
