Please note that this has now been moved to Saturday 22nd March.
If we have enough numbers, we will book into a caving experience. This takes 1 1/2 – 2 hours. For the majority of the tour you will be walking through mostly ankle deep water and sometimes up to your knees. There is a 20 metre section whereby you have to crawl. There is a limit of 10 per group. If there is more than 10 we will be split up with the 2nd group leaving 15 minutes after the first. Can you please contact me ASAP if you wish to participate in the caving experience so Nikau Caves knows how many guides to put on for the day. Check out their website for what to expect, bring etc. $65 pp + a $20 donation to your driver for vehicle running costs.
There is a lovely bush and waterfall walk which we will do after the caving experience. Part of the track has numbers identifying plants.
And after all this activity there is a cafe to relax in.
For those that want to stay a night there are several options available at reasonable prices. Stay in a cabin or bring your camper van.
Nikau Caves is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Glen Eden. 10.30am is the time to be at the Caves, not the time to leave Auckland! Note, there will be no Glen Eden meet up today, so please carpool if possible.
