10am – volunteer tree planting start
12:30pm Guided Walk ( ~1 hour)
Where: 111 Bethells Road, opposite Bethells Valley Fire station
Today we are volunteering at one of the Matuku Link Trust working bees/planting days in what is the largest wetland in Auckland.
This 37 hectare wetland and bush block is home to many species of birds including bittern (matuku), brown teal, fernbirds and spotless crake plus some native fish species, eel and fresh water crayfish.

Lunch will be provided with a guided tour after.
Tools will be provided.
Gumboots might be sensible.
