November 14, 2021 @ 9:00 am
With gathering and movements restrictions easing a little, we finally have the opportunity to reconnect and see each other in person. With the more popular beaches and parks likely to be as crowded at the Silvia Park, today we will have a low key walk in a quieter corner of Auckland.
Meet at 9.00 on Sunday 14 November on Oruarangi Road at the carpark with the toilets before you get to the Stonefields. If anyone is not sure where to go, then please contact the leader.
This is an easy walk which will take you through the Stonefields to the avocado orchard, round the crater then down a small road bash to Fenton Road and down to the coast. This is tide dependent and high tide is at 1.30pm so we have plenty of time to get round. Expect some mud and wet feet. We would be back in the Stonefields by about 12.00 for lunch. This is easy and suitable for all abilities but there are stone walls to get over and electric fences to negotiate which, from experience, I can tell you are on! This is about 4 hours.
We could do a faster and slower group, if needed.
No Glen Eden meetup.
PLEASE – if you fee unwell at all or have been in recent contact with a person with COVID-19, for the sake of your fellow trampers, please do not attend.
