A classic walk along a beautiful remote coast, yet not that far from Auckland. We will park at the Waiti Bay car park (just around the coast from Kawakawa). With a low tide in the early afternoon, the "tricky bit" of coast might be passable, if not there is an üp and over" option which
This will be a repeat of the first tramp we did after Level 4 lockdown last year. From the Whatipu carpark, we will walk around past the caves and along under the cliffs towards Paraharaha. This is a wonderful area to walk through. An interesting rock formation near the end looks like a chess piece.

A 4-5 hour tramp where we will walk to the end of Anawhata beach and up and over to Cannibal Creek. Then we will go upstream to a waterfall. Best to wear long trousers for leg protection. Please contact the leader if intending to meet at Anawhata.
We will drive to Arataki and then walk down Slip Track, Pipeline Rd, then join up to the Beveridge Track. The Beveridge track is mostly uphill, but of an even gradient, but we can get a coffee at Arataki when finished as a reward!
